God Will Also Anoint You With His Power to Heal

Not only does God the Father want to heal you, not 
only does His Son Jesus Christ want to heal you – but now God wants to take it one step further. He now wants to anoint His believers with His supernatural power to be able to heal others.

Do you get the big picture on all of this? If God is wanting to anoint His believers with His supernatural power to be able to heal others – then this is telling us that God is now placing the gift of healing as a major blessing within His Body so we can have it available to us when we may need it.

The reason for this is because God wants to anoint and empower His people to be able to go to work for Him in preaching the gospel to the rest of the world and doing what He wants them to be doing in their specific calls for Him. You cannot work for God full force in this life if you are constantly battling one ailment after another. You have to be operating in some kind of good physical health in order to be able to max out in your specific calls and duties for the Lord.

Should we use doctors, or just have faith that God will heal?

There is nothing in the Bible that says we cannot use doctors. In fact, Luke is commonly believed to have been a physician. So, God has chosen a doctor to help write the New Testament.

God has gifted believers, as well as unbelievers, with the ability to study medicine and to be used by Him in order to heal people. In fact, God has gifted all kinds of people in all kinds of ways. What about going to the orthodontist to have our teeth straightened? 

As Christians, should we just pray about it and not go? Or what about people with bad vision? Should they pray and ask for healing or go to the ophthalmologist? The answer is simple. Do both. Pray and ask the Lord to heal you. If He doesn't, go to a doctor.

Dr. Jon W. Draud, the medical director of psychiatric and addiction medicine at two Tennessee hospitals, pursues some eclectic passions. He’s bred sleek Basenji hunting dogs for show. And last summer, the Tennessee State Museum featured “African Art: The Collection of Jon Draud.”

But the Nashville psychiatrist is also notable for a professional pursuit: During the last four years, the 47-year-old Draud  has earned more than $1 million for delivering promotional talks and consulting for seven drug companies.

By a wide margin, Draud’s earnings make him the best-paid speaker in ProPublica’s Dollars for Docs database, which has been updated to include more than $2 billion in payments from 15 drugmakers for promotional speaking, research, consulting, travel, meals and related expenses from 2009 to 2012.

While watching animal rescue videos on YouTube recently, I was touched by a non-profit organization that travels through the country to rescue abandoned and abused dogs throughout the U.S. I have a soft spot for dogs, so I cried when I saw the animal rescuers reach out to these poor dogs. Some of them were so tiny it’s hard to believe that someone could abandon them.

The rescuers brought food – usually a cheeseburger – with them to feed the dog and gain its trust. Little by little, the dog would respond, some would shake with fear and anxiety and others would cower away. In the end, after the patient attempts of the rescuers, all the dogs, whether big or small would end up in the arms of the rescuer as if they’d been friends for life. All they needed was love.

God Wants You Well

"If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee." (Exodus 15:26)

Has the devil ever tried to put you under condemnation by telling you that it's contrary to the principles of faith to use doctors and medicine when you need healing? If so, here are some encouraging words that I believe will help you put your heart at rest.

It is God's will to heal you. That's the first and most important thing for you to understand. If your faith is strong and you can believe the Word without wavering (regardless of what circumstances or symptoms come against you), then you'll be able to receive that healing by faith alone.

But that kind of faith takes more than just hearing a few sermons about healing. It takes a deep personal revelation of God's healing power. So, if you haven't yet developed that kind of faith, the doctor is your best friend.

If you're not certain whether your faith is strong enough or whether you need a doctor's help, follow the instructions of the Apostle Paul (Col. 3:15) and let peace be your umpire.

If fear rises up within you when you think about doing without medical help, then go to a doctor. And go in faith! On the other hand, if you have a sure confidence within you that healing is yours strictly by faith, let your faith do its work and receive your healing directly. Whether or not you go to the doctor is not the issue. It is what you do with your faith.

Either way, you can rejoice knowing God is working with you, meeting you at the level of your faith. 

Thank God for your healing--however it comes!--and do not let Satan put you under condemnation. It is none of his business!

A woman and a baby were in the doctor's examining room, waiting for the doctor to come in for the baby's first exam. The doctor walked in and began examining the baby. Checking his weight, he seemed a little concerned, and asked if the baby was breast-fed or bottle-fed.

“Breast-fed,” the woman replied.

“Please strip down to your waist,” the doctor said.

She did. The doctor pinched her nipples, then pressed, kneaded and rubbed both breasts for a while in a very professional and detailed manner.

Motioning for her to her to get dressed, the doctor said, “No wonder this baby is underweight. You don't have any milk.”

“I know,” the woman said. “I'm his Grandma. But I'm glad I came!”
