LONDON (Reuters) - A bible which once belonged to Elvis Presley and contains his handwritten notes and thoughts has sold for 59,000 pounds ($94,600) at an auction in England, the auction house said.
The bible, given to the singer on his first Christmas at his home in Graceland in 1957, was bought by an American man based in Britain, Omega Auctions said on its website.
The religious book, used by Presley until his death on August 16, 1977, was expected to fetch around 25,000 pounds but went for more than double its value.
But a pair of Presley's unwashed and soiled underpants, worn underneath his famous white jumpsuit during a 1977 concert, went unsold.

After storm, Lisa Marie Presley finds grace in new album
By Piya Sinha-Roy | Reuters
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Lisa Marie Presley, the 'Princess' of Rock and Roll, is done fighting the legacy of her father Elvis.
She is embracing her Americana roots, finding her own voice, and carving a niche for herself in the musical spotlight with new album "Storm and Grace," out this week.
Presley, 44, the only child of The King and wife Priscilla, has come a long way since her first album, 2003's "To Whom It May Concern," and 2005 follow up, "Now What," admitting that she felt more vulnerable and rebellious with her earlier music.

King's daughter releases new album, sings on AI
By Amanda Crum
It can’t be easy to be the King’s daughter. Not only does Lisa Marie have an enormous legacy to live up to musically, she’s also been scrutinized her entire life because nothing she does is private.
Of course, she hasn’t always chosen the most low-key ways to go about things; in 1994 she married Michael Jackson, perhaps the only other man in the world as famous as her father. The marriage lasted two years before she moved on to actor Nicholas Cage, which lasted a whopping 108 days.
