Do Not Ever Lose Your Faith in the Lord

These last set of verses are now going to drive home one more major point. And that one major point is – that we never, ever lose our faith in the Lord and bail out on Him with what He wants to do with our lives. As the last set of verses have showed you, this has to be a faith walk to the death with the Lord.

The very last verse below has some very specific wording in it that is just bone-chilling to read. This last verse is using the vine and the branch analogy, with us being the branches and Jesus being the vine. This last verse tells us that if we ever lose our faith in the Lord, that we can then be cut off from the Lord just like a branch can be cut off from the vine. And you know what happens to a branch once it gets cut off from the tree. It will then fall straight to the ground, and from there, it will wither and die.

Looking Beyond Disappointment

John 11:3-6

When disappointments come your way in life, it is easy to blame yourself or others-or even both. Frequently it is difficult to know what to say or do because you cannot quite identify the real cause or purpose of the letdown.

Disappointment is often an emotional response to our own failure-or someone else's-to achieve a desire, hope, dream, or goal. This can lead to losing faith in someone on whom we were depending-perhaps even a person we love.

The gospel of John tells us that Jesus loved Martha, her sister Mary, and their brother Lazarus. Because of this, they didn't sense the need to tell the Lord anything more than "He whom You love is sick" (John 11:3). Their expectation was that as soon as Jesus heard this, He would come and heal their brother. But He didn't set out for two more days.
