Jesus said in Luke 4:18-19, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” If you are a believer in the Lord, you have the right to be free from oppression. You have the right to be free from whatever holds you captive. You have the right to see, that which is unseen with eyes of faith. God does not want His children to remain captive to the things of this world. He sent Jesus to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.

The Year of the Lord’s Favor

“Remember me, O Lord, when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them, that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may share in the joy of your nation and join your inheritance in giving praise.” (Psalm 106: 4-5)
