“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40: 31)
But God’s time is different from ours. Although it’s hard to keep in focus, just be reminded that God has many plans for you. It is important to learn to stay still and wait for Him. He has promised to provide everything you need in due time.
On certain occasions, He might say, “No”. But just because He closes a door on something you’ve been praying about for a long time, it doesn’t mean He doesn’t care. He always has your best interest in mind and will give you something much better than you imagined.
I find the following verses to be encouraging in my times of waiting:
“In the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior.” (Titus 1: 2-3)
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40: 31)
“The one who guards a fig tree will eat its fruit, and whoever protects their master will be honored.” (Proverbs 27:18)
“I will wait for the Lord, who is hiding his face from the descendants of Jacob. I will put my trust in him.”(Isaiah 8:17)
“Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.”(Habakkuk 2:2-3)
“Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” (Psalm 25:5)
“Hope in the Lord and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are destroyed, you will see it.”(Psalm 37:34)
“But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you Save me from all my transgressions; do not make me the scorn of fools.”(Psalm 39:7-8)
“Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.” (Psalm 62:1-2, 5-6)
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9)
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5: 6-7)
“I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.” (Psalm 130:5-6)
The key thing to remember is that the Lord has your best interests in mind. In time, he will provide you with the things that you need whether you ask for it or not.
Father, Forgive my impatience and the times when I have stopped believing that You are at work. I know that Your hand is on my life. Help me to live like I truly believe that. Amen
Question: How have you stayed strong in your faith in times of waiting?
