Just Breathe: Healing from Sinus Cancer

AMAZING STORY

By Tim Smith

Bobby BowersCBN.com - Jacob Boger had severe headaches, watery eyes, and felt fatigued all the time. MRI tests showed a tumor in his nasal cavity, behind his eyes. A subsequent biopsy revealed even more… cancer. “I had ignored the symptoms for so long that the cancer had progressed through the 1st stage, the 2nd stage, and the 3rd stage. And by the time we did the biopsy, I was in the 4th stage, and given a less than 10% chance to live. The cancer was eating a hole in my skull and was heading toward my brain.”

Jacob needed immediate chemo and radiation. His doctor told him about the possible side effects. “’It’s going to make you sterile. Your saliva glands are going to be destroyed. Your taste buds are going to be destroyed. The radiation that’s going to go with this treatment is going to destroy your hair follicles. You’ll never have hair on the sides of your head again.’”

Jessica was Jacob’s girlfriend at the time. “And I remember that night. I was driving him home from a restaurant. And he told me, ‘The doctors told me that I won’t be able to have children.’ I remember that moment, a tear rolled down his cheek when he was in the car with me.”

Miraculously Healed While Reading the Bible

AMAZING STORY

By David DiCicco

CBN.com –“All of a sudden, things looked very odd to me. I looked at my fingers like this, and I could see some fingers and others I couldn’t. ‘Am I having a stroke or what is this? What’s going on?’”

Sue Wynn was twenty-eight years old with a promising career when the first symptoms appeared. After several trips to the emergency room she got disturbing news. “The ER doc said, ‘I must tell you, you have a fifty percent chance of having MS.’ I just dismissed it. I said, ‘I don’t have time for that. This can’t possibly be that. I feel fine.’”

She moved on with her life and career. But one night at home with her husband, her symptoms erupted. “I was sitting watching the evening news with Jeff. And Jeff has a tendency to like to jiggle his foot, and so I said, ‘Jeff, stop jiggling.’ He said, ‘I’m not but you are.’ And I was going like this (head shaking), and then it started going like this (intensity of shaking increased), and then it started to go like that (It grew progressively worse.), and I was scared to death because I didn’t know and I couldn’t stop. It just kept going like that.”

AMAZING STORY

CBN.com – A teenage boy sticks a needle in his arm for a high. Does he realize that his drug use could threaten his life 30 years later? That’s exactly what happened to Casey Treat.

In 2003, a routine medical exam for a life ins
urance policy revealed that Hepatitis C was killing him.
“At that time they said I had a four percent chance of clearing the virus and most likely what was going to happen over the next few years, my liver would fail,” Casey said. “Then I would either need a liver transplant, which was difficult, or I would die young.”

"I never felt like I was fighting my cancer alone." Kimalea’s StoryStage II breast cancer

This testimonial includes a description of this patient’s actual medical results. Those results may not be typical or expected for the particular disease type described in this testimonial. You should not expect to experience these results.
My journey with breast cancer has been both spiritual and physical. It began in late June 2010 when I found a small lump in my breast. At first, I wanted to dismiss it to the fact that I have fibrocystic tissues. The lump was very tiny, but it felt slightly different than anything I had felt before. When I returned to my home in Telluride, Colorado that Fourth of July weekend after a trip out of town, I called and made an appointment with my doctor. The next week, I underwent a biopsy. Days later, the results came in: The tumor was cancerous.
I went to a local hospital to have a lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy. The biopsy determined the cancer was in three of the four sentinel lymph nodes. The original tumor was .8 centimeters and the nodes that had become cancerous were larger than the actual tumor.

When the Diagnosis Is Defeat

Ron-Phillips-Headshot-Blog“When adversity comes, you praise God.”

That was what my friend Terry had always been taught. When those tough times come, you just stand there, stare down the storm, and praise God.

However, on January 8, 2012, praising God was not very high on Terry’s priority list. After experiencing some problems, and noticing a lump that had developed only over a couple of days, and that ran from his chest up toward his shoulder, Terry decided to visit his doctor. His doctor was pretty blunt with the assessment:

“You have extensive small cell carcinoma (a very fast growing and aggressive form of cancer). You probably only have 6 to 12 months to live.”

Womb cancer deaths 'are rising'

Women
Survival rates for women with womb cancer have improved
The number of women dying from cancer of the womb - known as uterine cancer - has increased by nearly 18% in the past decade, according to the charity Cancer Research UK.
Data showed that more cases are now being diagnosed. While women are living longer after a diagnosis, the total number of deaths has also increased.
It has been argued that rising levels of obesity were behind the rise.
Cancer Research UK said the finding was "hugely troubling".
Cancer of the womb is the fourth most common cancer in women and tends to occur after the menopause.
From the 1970s to 1996 the incidence of womb cancer stayed roughly the same at about 13.7 cases for every 100,000 women in the UK. It now stands at 19.6 per 100,000, a 43% increase.
Survival rates have improved with 77% of women now living at least five years after treatment. However, deaths have gone up.
In the past decade the mortality rate has gone from 3.1 to 3.7 deaths from uterine cancer for every 100,000 women. In 2010, 1,937 women died from the cancer.
Prof Jonathan Ledermann, a gynaecological cancer expert at the charity, said: "It's hugely troubling that more women are dying from womb cancer, but we shouldn't let this cloud the fact that the chances of surviving the disease are still better than ever.
"This is due to better organisation of care for women's cancers and more widespread use of one-stop clinics for post-menopausal bleeding, as well as advances in the use of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy through clinical trials."
Rachael Gormley, from the World Cancer Research Fund, said: "Womb cancer is one of several types of cancer where there is strong evidence that obesity increases risk. Others include breast, bowel, oesophageal, pancreatic and kidney.
"As levels of obesity rise, we can expect the number of cancer cases to also increase.
"Taking steps to avoid becoming obese, such as eating a healthy diet and being active each day, is one of the most important things we can do to reduce our risk of cancer."
