Wait in God's Presence

by Barbie Breathitt

The Bible is full of God-given revelation through dreams, visions, and prophecy. We must study to show ourselves approved so that we can operate in the Spirit of understanding. We need to be spiritually fruitful in today's age of increasing spiritual awareness—which is both good and evil. We must learn from the Holy Spirit to discern between the two and have the character to reject the evil and embrace the true.

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened...” Ephesians 1:17–18 NKJV

The tangible presence of God residing in our lives, enabling us to do the impossible, is more important now than ever before in history. We do well to adopt the prayer of Moses in Exodus 33:13–16 (below). Moses asked God to show him His ways. This involves the spiritual realm of vision. If we are able to see our future and understand the ways God wants us to walk, we will prosper. It is time to see the grace and favor of God resting upon us in the realms of glory. Part of knowing God is recognizing His glory manifest in and through our lives. Do we really know God if we are not walking in the strength of His power doing great exploits?

The Defeat of Disease and Death

When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: 'He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases.' Matthew 8:16-17

My friend Skip and I are the same age, plus he broke his neck the same day I did. What's more, his diving accident also occurred in the Chesapeake Bay! I dove into the Maryland side of the bay; he, the Virginia side. You can see why I've always felt a special kinship with Skip. And my heart broke when I learned he died from complications connected with his quadriplegia. It made me angry at death and disease!

At the same time, I felt a sense of joy. Christ defeated death and disease by taking them with Him to the grave. God's judgment on the sin which ushered disease into the world was endured by Jesus when He died. The prophet Isaiah explained, "He was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5). The horrible blows on Jesus' back purchased a world without disease - that world is still in the future, but it's coming soon (Romans 8:23-24). And Skip and I can't wait!

God's appointed day

Tensions were the highest anyone had ever known. People everywhere were talking about Lazarus who was dead and now he is alive, Bartimaeus who had been a blind fixture by the roadside as predictably as the morning. And now he could see and was he ever sure how he regained his sight. And then there were the crowds who had witnessed miraculous feedings and healings  . . . Well it is Sunday, 10th of Nissan in AD30, Jesus Christ is leaving a small village 2 miles outside Jerusalem called Bethany.

His departure is precisely what had been predicted 1,500 years before by Moses (our Passover Lamb who had to enter on the 10th of Nissan). The way He would come was exactly stated 500 years before by Zechariah (our King riding on a colt). Both stated how He would come: as a Lamb and as a King! You see God's Plan is PERFECT!

Let’s read the Palm Sunday Triumphal Entry of Jesus the Lamb that was to be slain at God's precise moment in time, Mark 11:1-10.

Snake-Handling Christians: Faith, Prophecy and Obedience

The recent death of a Christian minister from West Virginia who believed that the Bible instructs the faithful to handle snakes and drink poison has put into question a doctrine many believe is unbiblical and dangerous but that its adherents, biblical literalists, say they are compelled to obey.

Escaping Egyptian Tyranny - Again

During the past month, a plague of locusts swept across Egypt and then into neighboring Israel. While not so uncommon, a number of news reports were quick to point out the significant timing of the occurrence—coming as it did just before the Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread, which will be observed next week. At this time we reflect on God's deliverance of the ancient Israelites from slavery in Egypt. To free His people, God sent devastating plagues on Egypt, including locusts. In light of other recent events, there is much more to reflect on at this time as well.

It's been more than a month since I wrote the lead articles for the current issue of The Good News concerning the Arab Spring—covering Egypt's slide into Islamist tyranny and the drive toward an Islamic caliphate throughout the region and the wider Muslim world. Yet of course the threat to Israel remains. In fact, it may surprise you to learn that the Bible even foretells that slavery in Egypt and other lands lies ahead for many modern Israelites. I would like to have addressed this issue in the magazine, but length prevented me—and I'll still only be able to touch on it here.

Do You Fear the Birth of Jesus?

by Jeremy Ham, AiG–U.S

The historical account of Joseph and Mary traveling to Bethlehem in preparation for the birth of Jesus is no stranger to many of us. On Christmas, we celebrate Jesus Christ’s birthday, remembering why He had come (John 3:16–17). Although what God has done through the Lord Jesus Christ gives us the reason to be joyful always, do you also fear God in light of Christ’s birth? The birth of Jesus Christ should either make you afraid or make you admire and revere our awesome God.

Admiration for Christ’s Birth

Christians have no need to be afraid. In fact, on Halloween, we discussed the topic of the fear and the proper response to it. We have God on our side, so why should we be scared (see Psalm 118:6)? However, this does not negate the need for a fear of God. In this article, we are referring to two different definitions of fear in this context—to be scared of something or to have a reverent fear in awe of God. When we fear God, we submit to God as our Creator and Savior, and we will praise and glorify Him for who He is and what He has done for us.

Twenty-Seven Percent - is prophecy important?

Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness? —2 Peter 3:11

People’s attitudes toward Bible prophecy vary widely. Some believers are so preoccupied with it that they are constantly talking about the latest world events, thinking they are biblical signs that Christ could return at any moment. Others are so casual in their view of prophecy that it seems as if they don’t believe it’s relevant to the Christian life at all.

Conquer Your Mountain in 2013!

It's almost 2013! Many great things happened during 2012, and even though we faced hardships and trials, which are to be expected in life, we survived and even laughed a lot more than we had in previous years. How can we smile, have joy, and even get excited when we are faced with so much evil and darkness? Well, let's look at a few things before we travel together to the mountain in Israel and hear the Word of the Lord on Dec. 31.
We are NOT going to enter 2013 with one negative word on our lips, but rather the word "CONQUER" will resonate and prepare our path to many victories. You may be saying, "Kim, you're just too positive! How can we truly believe this?"
Sir Winston Churchill was once asked to give the qualifications of a person needed in order to succeed in politics, and he replied: "It is the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month, and next year. And to have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn't happen." That is what is required for politicians, not God's prophets and messengers. Look at Isaiah as an example.

Healing -- A Forever-Settled Subject

By Kenneth W. Hagin
One of the paramount questions believers ask today is not whether God is able to heal, but whether He is willing to heal. Is it always God’s will to heal? The answer is, “Most assuredly, yes!”
When we want to understand God’s will about a subject, we go to God’s Word, because God’s Word is God’s will. And the Bible tells us that healing is the will of God. The Bible also tells us, “For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven” (Ps. 119: 89) and “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my [Jesus’] words shall not pass away” (Luke 21:33). Healing is a forever-settled subject because God’s Word is forever settled!

'Jerusalem Countdown' Highlights Battle Between Israel and Islam on Big Screen

We're counting down to an inevitable conflict between Israel and Islam. That's the premise of a new film that's now showing in theaters around the country. Adapted from the best-selling book by John Hagee,Jerusalem Countdown, the prophecy thriller produced by Pure Flix Entertainment, is getting attention.
The movie follows FBI agent Shane Daughtry (David A.R White), who must find smuggled nuclear weapons in the United States before they are detonated. The only people who can help him are a washed-up arms dealer (Lee Majors), retired agent (Stacy Keach) and by-the-book CIA deputy director played by country music star Randy Travis. The film also stars Christian singer Jaci Velasquez.
Jerusalem Countdown debuted on about 50 screens last weekend in a grass-roots campaign to win more screen time. That's similar strategy the producers of the hit movie Fireproof took. Pure Flix CEO and Managing Partner Russell Wolfe told Christian Retailing that the company is offering churches the opportunity to host a Jerusalem Countdown outreach event, so audiences can "witness prophecy unfolding with what is transpiring in the Middle East."
More than 1 million copies of the English version of Hagee's Jerusalem Countdown have been sold since it came to market in 2006. Charisma House has also sold nearly 40,000 copies of the Spanish version. However, Charisma House says there are no plans currently to cross-promote the book with the movie.

When Prophecies Fail (even in 2012) by Elwin R. Roach

"Charity never (1) faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall (2)fail..." 1 Corinthians 13:8 " (even in 2012).

Many people are in quite a stir these days. Calamities have been streaming through the nations that have left them more than a little unsettled. There have been earthquakes, a tsunami that caused thousands of deaths and three uncontrollable nuclear reactor melt downs, political upheavals and corruption everywhere, economic woes, nations going bankrupt, and immorality running rampant in all walks of life. Moreover, many believe that the catalyst for an imminent, worldwide meltdown has to do with the Mayan calendar that ends on this year's winter solstice December 21, 2012. There have been an unprecedented amount of prophecies, fearful predictions, and speculations concerning this upcoming date.

According to credible researchers, it is said that the Mayans studied the heavens extensively and were very interested in world ages. But they also say that the record has been distorted, leaving several possibilities open to interpretation. In the Maya Long Count calendar, the one causing so much consternation and debate, the previous world ended after 13 b'ak'tuns, or roughly 5,125 years. This means that the fourth world, or age, will also have reached the end of its 13th b'ak'tun, on December 21, 2012. In 1957, Mayanist and astronomer, Maud Worcester Makemson, wrote that "the completion of a Great Period of 13 b'ak'tuns would have been of the utmost significance to the Maya." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_phenomenon.)

PROPHETIC INSIGHTS

title-prophetic

But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.' 1 Corinthians 14:3 (NKJV)

PROPHETIC INSIGHTS ARE INTENDED TO STRENGTHEN, ENCOURAGE AND BUILD YOU UP IN THE LORD. MAY YOU FIND COMFORT IN HIS WORD TODAY.

PROPHETIC INSIGHTS
For surely the Spirit of the Lord would say, I have destined you My people. I have chosen you from the foundation of the world. I have anointed you for this day. I anointed you for this hour. And I say no enemy will be able to pluck you out of My hand for you are chosen. You are mine says the Lord, and I will cause you to come into the fullness of your destiny if you will trust Me, if you will seek Me with all of your heart. I will give you the ability, the wisdom, the power, the might to come unto the high realms of My Spirit, to walk in the land of the living in the wisdom and the power of My anointing. I will cause you to have favor in the north, south, east and the west and I will cause you to be able to come forth even as calves come up out of the stall and they are cared for and watched over. I have watched over you. I have kept you. I have chosen you. Let not the enemy steal that which I have invested in your life. Let not the enemy lie and tell you that you have not been called, that you have not been chosen, for I say I have called you with a holy calling. I have given My life that you might live. I have given My life that you might achieve all that I have called you to be. If you could see by the eye of your spirit today, the revelation of the knowledge of God, the revelation of the truth of that which I have ordained in you; you could not be discouraged. You could not be despondent, for I say great is the reward of the righteous and not only in the world to come, but in this life great is your reward if you will trust Me for it, if you will refuse to give up, if you will refuse to let go of My hand, if you will refuse to give up in your prayer life and in that word that I have given unto you. I say I will watch over it. I will bring it to pass and you will become all that I have created you to be; for you are called with a holy calling and you can do it says the Lord.

For this is the hour the Lord is drawing out of the people, out of the depth of your being, out of the very depth of your being says the Lord. I will bring out of you more than you ever thought was even within you. For I declare that I have an investment in you and you are honorable in my sight and I will pour out of your life into the lives of many. I will cause righteousness to prevail and I will cause holiness to indwell you and I will cause the anointing of God to flow out from your life and you will know that I Am is in your midst. And you will know that I have chosen you and that you are precious in My sight. For I say I will move mountains in your behalf and I will cause hidden things to come to light because you are mine and I have chosen you. I have called you and I declare you can do all things for I will strengthen you. I will cause you to be able to overcome every hindrance because it is within you, says the Lord.

Brother Copeland's Prophecy for 2012

Just before I walked out here, the word of the Lord came to me. So let’s just begin to honor his presence tonight. We praise you, Sir. Oh my. We open our hearts and minds to you tonight. We honor you above all else. Lord Jesus, we are yours to command and we praise you and worship you. Thank you. We know and we have some understanding seeking for more in depth understanding that all is well in the kingdom of God. And we give you praise and thanksgiving for our place in that kingdom. Thank you, Sir. Thank you, Sir. Thank you, Sir.

What about 2012? What does it hold? What’s in store? What’s in store for the nations? What’s in store for Israel and what’s in store for the Church? I have a great storehouse. Much more has been stored up in the storehouse of riches beyond your wildest dream that I laid up for you before the foundation of the world. Much more is stored up there than what the Church has ever called for. I never have held back on the Church, saith the Lord and the God of plenty. I’ve made it available to you. I put it in My Word. I gave you promise and stood behind it with the blood, precious blood of your Savior. But there has been a backwardness in My people about laying hold of the things that I have provided for you. But I will say this: There is a people in the land. There is a people around the world. There is a people strong and mighty growing much stronger and much mightier and more bold to lay hold and put their claim of faith on the things that I have laid up for you and it thrills me, saith the Lord, because it’s been yours all the time.

Ah, but what about 2012? 2012 is a year full of surprises. Some surprises are going to shake people up. Some surprises are going to shake people down. But for those that are listening to My voice, those that have made themselves available to My Spirit and to My Word, you’ll have surprises. Oh, not like the world and not like a lot of carnal-minded Christians. Your surprises will come as suddenlies. Like in My Word when it said, “And suddenly there came upon them.” And you’ll stand up with a big smile on your face and say “I just got a suddenly, didn’t I?” Oh! Yes. But it’ll not take you by surprise because I said in My Word I’d show you things to come. I said in My Word what I speak the Holy Ghost will hear and He will speak it to you. And there are those of you that are seeking My voice and seeking My Word and seeking My name and looking at Me in My face while I’m looking at you in your face, and together we’ll walk in this and together we’ll walk through this and there’ll come a time when you’ll just smile at Me and I’ll just smile at you and you’ll say, “Ha. Ha. Ha. I knew that all the time. Praise God. My Father showed me that was coming and I was all prepared and it didn’t come on me as a suddenly. But this other surprise that came on me, oh what joy, oh what thrill, oh what goodness. I wonder what else my Father has in store for me.” Hallelujah. Praise God.

2012? I’ll tell you about 2012. It’s going to be a year of great joy for those who know joy. It’ll be a time of marvelous breakthroughs. This is a time of victory. It’s a time when people begin to realize that My Word is a living word, that My Spirit is the living Spirit, and that you are My voice in the earth. And your voice is the voice of victory. So rejoice and shout and understand that the breakthroughs that you’ve sought and watched over, prayed over, stood in faith for; Ah, don’t turn loose now. Don’t turn loose now because they’re at hand. They’re right at hand. They’re right on top of you right now. Praise God. Hey!

Have no worry. Do not be in fear about the United States of America. Don’t be in fear over the failure of this republic. This is not the time for this nation to fail. I’m not done with it yet. And it may come as a surprise to many; this nation is not done with Me yet, saith the Lord. Hallelujah. We have a job to do. And this year will be like none other where this nation is concerned. And many will say, “Oh whoa is us! Oh whoa is us!” And you know what? Oh whoa will be them. And there are others that’ll say, “Oh we can’t win! We can’t win!” And to them they can’t win. Ah, but to those of them that say, “Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. This is a time of greatness! America again! Oh, and it’s my nation and it’s God’s nation and we’re right where supposed to be. He has us right where he wants us, and our future is bright because God is still Lord over the United States of America”.

So rejoice and give forth a glad sound because the Lord of glory is still on the throne and prayer changes things and together we’re going on to greater victory. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Well, praise the Lord. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. Oh yes! 2012 is a time of miracles. Miracles that seemed as if they would not come but they’re here. There is an atmosphere conducive to miracles that’s been growing and growing and will manifest greatly in the first quarter of 2012 and continue throughout the year and on into 2013. I’ve been looking forward to 2012, saith the Lord. I know how it’s going to turn out. I’ve already dealt with it in My Word. Your future is looking better all the time. But of course you’ll need to look at it through My eyes, saith the Spirit of grace. So as I said before rejoice; for your time has come. Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord. Lord, we praise you for that. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

WHO'S WHO IN BIBLE PROPHECY

The individuals listed below are Christians (past and present) who are passionate about their faith.  Some are recognized pastors, scholars and teachers of Bible prophecy and eschatology (study of end-times) who also belong to various denominations.  Also listed here are those from pseudo-Christian organizations (so-called Christian groups that adhere to doctrines outside mainstream Christianity).  This comprehensive list of individuals is meant to help you identify sound teaching on Bible prophecy and prophecy topics only.  Some have devoted their entire lives to teaching Bible prophecy.  Not all are always in agreement, and not all are sound in their doctrines.  Therefore, study for yourselves, and use this as a guide only.

Though there are many good prophecy teachers, some should be avoided.  With that in mind, remember that we are commanded to pray for those whom we take issue with.  Please don't confuse this list with those who claim to be prophets or those with prophetic revelations, dreams, visions or other so-called inspired prophecies.

The below "apple" rating is solely for the teaching of Bible prophecy and prophecy topics, not for individual ministries or personal lives of those listed.  You might find some listed here who teach sound Bible prophecy, yet to support other doctrines you disagree with.  Their teaching on other important Bible doctrines should not necessarily be confused with the comments here.  Use the Bible as your guide, just as Paul described the Bereans in Acts 17:11, "Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so."  "Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom.  And in all your getting, get understanding."  Proverbs 4:7.
