The Big Minute
Rabbi Shaul Rosenblatt
Bo (Exodus 10:1-13:16)
When God informs Moses of the tenth and final plague, he tells him that it will happen at "approximately" midnight. Rashi, the great commentator, asks why God was not more exact. Doesn't God have a watch? He answers that timekeeping was an inexact science in those days. Were God to have said "exactly" midnight, people might have confused their timings and thought that it was God, and not them, who had made a mistake. To avoid potential confusion, God says "approximately."
At first glance, this answer makes no sense. Let's put it in context for a moment. God has brought ten miraculous plagues upon Egypt - blood, locust with iron teeth, hail with fire inside, darkness that is palpable... These miracles are about to climax with the slaying of every firstborn Egyptian in a single moment. And God is worried that because someone might not have an atomic clock, he will think that God's not as cool as he says He is?!

Does his secret stash mean that he's gay?
I’ve been with my partner for 12 years and but there has been no intimacy between us for most of that time
By Coleen Nolan

Dear Coleen,
I’ve been with my partner for 12 years and, this may shock you, but there has been no intimacy between us for most of that time. I can count on my hands the times it has happened.

VALUE DOUBTS AND MYSTERY
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
This is a scripture passage that many use in discipling new believers. The New International Version of the Bible footnotes this verse with the reminder that in the Greek language the word “temptation” or “tempted” can also mean “trial” or “testing.” It is a characteristic of the human condition that we often have doubts about God and we feel badly about them. But the story of Job in the Old Testament reveals that we should value our doubts because they bring God close.

Signs of The Times
Written by Rev. Daniel Forster
Do you know how to share your faith? Take the 35 Day Challenge and know for sure.
“Thus
says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his
strength, whose heart turns away from the LORD. He is like a shrub in the
desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places
of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.”
(Jeremiah 17:5-6, ESV)
In our over stimulating world it is very easy to dismiss and put
off “signs” as they are identified in the Bible. It is
easy to dismiss these things when so many around us mock them, or we see an
overzealous TV preacher tying to shove it down our throats. Yet, if we live our
lives by what others say, how others act, how others feel, or even by the
majority, we are living our lives for man, and not for our God. We need to seek
answers to our doubts, troubles, temptations in His living and true word.

Is the Resurrection a Myth?
Hank Hanegraaff
How can we know beyond any doubt that Jesus really rose from the dead - that this singular event is not some queer predilection on the part of the Christian but is rather faith founded on irrefutable fact?
As Christians, we must be prepared to demonstrate that Christ's resurrection was an event that occurred in time and space - that it was, in reality, historical and not mythological (cf. 2 Peter 1:16).
The importance of this event cannot be minimized, for Jesus Himself proclaimed that His resurrection would prove His power over death, and thus His deity (John 2:18-22). Not only that, but Christ's resurrection is the very heart of the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
When I first began examining the evidences for Christianity, I discovered that belief in the Resurrection does not constitute a blind leap into a dark chasm but rather a step into the light. Indeed, the evidence for Christ's resurrection is so overwhelming that no one can examine it with an open mind desiring to know the truth without becoming convinced of its truth.

God Is For Us!
by Jack Hayford
Those words are His—found in abundance in His Holy Word. They are found in verses so clear, so Self-expressive of our Father's love, so totally supportive and so fully committed to us that there is no mistaking His intent that we firmly grasp the idea. The reason? Because doubts and fears too easily and constantly beset us.
We are all tempted at times to wonder: Is God's mind tuned to my heart-cry...my need? Is His eye focused on me now...on my present situation? Will God's hand reach my way...to cover me—in time? But His Word answers these questions for us. When we cry out, "What shall we say to these things?" His Word thunders in response: "If God be for us, who can be against us!" (Romans 8:31).
What kinds of "things" does this cover? What are the situations where we can expect we will find, "God is for us"? Here's just the beginning of a list:
