Creationist Ken Ham Blasts Robert Jeffress for Anti-Young Earth Remarks

By Stoyan Zaimov , Christian Post Reporter

Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Church of Dallas has come under fire by creationist Ken Ham, after the Texas preacher suggested that the universe might indeed be 13.7 billion years old, as modern science claims.

"It is so distressing that so many of our Christian leaders don't seem to understand that to accept man's fallible beliefs of billions of years, Big Bang etc, they are really undermining the authority of God's Word," Ham, president/CEO and founder of Answers in Genesis–U.S. and the Creation Museum, wrote on his Facebook page on Thursday.

"To send a signal to coming generations that one can accept such false ideas like the Big Bang and billions of years they are taught at public school and secular colleges (and many compromising Christian Colleges) is a major factor why so many of the coming generations begin to doubt the authority of the Word of God," the creationist added.

Pat Robertson: "God Will Supply A Million Dollars" to One of His Viewers

Televangelist Pat Robertson
said this past week that
someone in his 700 Club
audience praying for a
million dollars will receive
it from the Lord. According
Robertson, a conservative
political commentator and
charismatic preacher,
prayed during the
broadcast that "God is going
to supply a million dollars. Somebody is praying right now, right this second you're praying for a million dollars ... God has said I have heard your prayer, I know your need and I'm going to supply the need that you've requested. It's done, in Jesus' name."

The prayer came after Robertson told another viewer that the clothes she bought at a local Goodwill store may have attached demons and that she should pray over the clothing to exorcise them.

Joni Eareckson Tada Dismayed by Robertson's Alzheimer's Remarks

By Joseph Perkins , Christian Post Contributor

A widely recognized disability advocate is criticizing Pat Robertson for his remarks.

Robertson, chairman of the Christian Broadcasting Network, is now embroiled in a firestorm he unwittingly created when he advised viewers of “The 700 Club” that they would be justified in divorcing a spouse afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease.

On Thursday, Joni Eareckson Tada, founder and chief executive officer of Joni and Friends International Disability Center, a Christian-based organization based in Agoura Hills, Calif., issued a statement condemning Robertson's remarks.

Tada was “dismayed,” she said, that the host of CBN's most popular program suggested "Alzheimer's disease is a kind of death" that makes it morally acceptable to dispose of an afflicted husband or wife. “When a Christian leader views marriage on a sliding scale, what does this say to the millions of couples who must deal daily with catastrophic injuries and illnesses?” Tada asked.

Radiant "Religious" Bullshit Of The Day

Whenever I find myself thinking that this guy can't get any more creepy, he speaks again. It's how I know that God has a sense of humor, because every circus needs a clown.

Wait! I think I've figured it out: Pat Robertson is working secretly in the open as a stand-up comic. No one could otherwise be this idiotic.

Pat Robertson Wants You to Smoke Pot Legally

By Alexander Abad-Santos | The Atlantic Wire

Pat Robertson and marijuana legalization make for strange bedfellows, but he's actually been championing the cause—specifically its place in the conversation about prison reform—since 2010.
Yes, according to an interview with The New York Times on Wednesday, the strict evangelical who believes gay people cause hurricanes and that mac 'n cheese may be a "black thing," is also for thelegalization of marijuana. But it isn't because he's tried the stuff. It's a bit more complicated than that. “I really believe we should treat marijuana the way we treat beverage alcohol,” Robertson told The Times. "I’ve never used marijuana and I don’t intend to, but it’s just one of those things that I think: this war on drugs just hasn’t succeeded."  This has been a talking point for Robertson for some time now.
Back in December 2010, The Atlantic's Chris Good wrote about "Pat Robertson's Christmas Present to Marijuana Legalizers', his take on a recent airing of The 700 Club where Robertson said, "We're locking up people that take a couple of puffs of marijuana, and the next thing you know they've got ten years ...  it's costing us a fortune and it's ruining young people. Young people going to prisons--they go in as youths and they come out as hardened criminals, it's not a good thing." Back then Robertson's spokesman said it wasn't a call to decriminalize pot.
So, fast forward to last week on The 700 Club where Robertson, as The Atlantic's Andrew Cohen writes, "devoted nearly nine minutes of the broadcast to commentary and a (really well produced) piece on the topic." Adding, "He's also right in identifying the notion that decriminalizing pot possession is one of the easiest ways to break the cycle of incarceration that ruins people -- and government budgets."  Following that broadcast, Robertson told The Times' Jesse McKinley, " I just want to be on the right side... And I think on this one, I’m on the right side."
