There Is A Miracle In Your House!

Are you in need of a miracle? Within your house, within your hand, within your possession is the seed for your miracle. Yes, beloved, today you have within your possession the seed for the miracle you need right now. The seed for your future harvest is in your possession today.

The harvest you are reaping today, whether good or bad, is a product of the seed you sowed yesterday. Whether your yesterday was last week, last month, last year or ten years ago. You are reaping the harvest from the seeds you sowed in days gone by.

Galatians 6:7 warns us not to be deceived concerning God's law of sowing and reaping - "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Whatsoever means just that - what-so-ever.


The Amplified Version says that "For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap."

In that same text, we are exhorted not to get weary in doing what is right -sowing the right seed - because eventually we will reap the desired harvest of return if we don't get weary and give up. (Galatians 6:9)

I really like the way the Living Bible says it - "And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap the desired harvest of blessing if we don't get discouraged and give up."

From the creation of the earth, the ordinance of seedtime and harvest, sowing and reaping, has existed and it will continue as long as the earth remains. There is no escaping this spiritual law.

Genesis 8:22 "While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest (sowing and reaping)... shall not cease."

The law of sowing and reaping can either work for you or against you dependent upon what you are sowing. If you don't like the harvest you are reaping today, you can change it. You can change the harvest you get tomorrow by what you sow today.

You may be in need of a miracle today. Don't panic! The seed to produce the miracle you need is in your possession. Beloved, perhaps the miracle seed is in your house. But it must get out of your house, out of your possession and into the hand of Almighty God to produce a miracle. It must get into the hand of El Shaddai.

Let's look at the account of two widowed women who didn't like the harvest they were reaping and did something to change it. To their surprise, they both discovered that what they needed for a miracle was "in their possession all along." The seed for their miracle was in their house. Yes, beloved, there was a miracle in the house. The miracle seed to meet their need was already in their possession. Yes, beloved, there was a miracle seed in the house all along.

As you listen to the Holy Spirit, you will discover that the seed to meet your need and to bring forth a miracle for you is also in your possession. I Kings 17 records the account of the widow at Zarephath whose family was faced with starvation. She needed a miracle of provision for her and her son.

But in order for God to get the miracle of provision to her, He had to get it "through" her. She had to release the miracle seed that was in her house. She had to release what she had in her possession and place it into God's hand. She had to obey God's instruction through the prophet Elijah. By so doing, El Shaddai supernaturally multiplied her seed and produced an abundant harvest.

As you read this account, notice carefully the underlined items.

I Kings 17:8-16
8 And the word of the LORD came unto him (Elijah), saying,
9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath... behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me. I pray thee. a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11 And as she was going to fetch it. he called to her, and said, Bring me. I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
12 And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but a handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not: go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me. and after make for thee and for thy son.
14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, the barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.
15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he. and her house, did eat many days.16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

First, notice that the widow's harvest was not only intended as a means to sustain her and her household, but God had purposed for her harvest to be a means for sustaining Elijah also.
Beloved, God's harvest of blessings are not for you and yours only, but are intended as a source of blessing for others, even for nations.

As God told Abraham - in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed.. .and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed (Genesis 22:17; 28:14). Beloved, if we be Christ's then we are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise (Galatians 3:29).

God's primary purpose for blessing us is so that we may be a blessing in the earth. Notice verse 10, the first thing God had to do was get the widow woman's attention off of  herself. He wanted her to become "seed-minded" rather than "need-minded." He directed her attention to go fetch a cup of water for Elijah right in the midst of her collecting sticks for the fire for her final meal. Isn't that just like God? As long as our focus is upon ourselves and our needs, it is difficult for God to get to us what He wants to increase and get through us.

So, beloved, get your attention off of your needs and ask God to show you the seed in your possession. Then, become seed-minded and sow that seed so that El Shaddai can supernaturally return it to you in the form of an exceeding, abundantly, above miracle.

Then notice that once God got her attention off of her immediate situation, her need, He started talking to her, through the Prophet Elijah, about "the seed in her house," Elijah immediately called out and asked her to bring him a "morsel" of bread (verse 11) along with the "little" water in a vessel. She responded that she didn't have "a cake" and then started talking about her situation (verse 12) and the "handful" of meal and "little" oil that she had. Notice, Elijah hadn't asked her for a cake but for a "morsel" of bread (verse 11). That word "morsel" implies a bit, a piece, a break, a part. In other words, Elijah was saying break me off a piece of that cake you're going to bake, give me a piece of what you're making for you and your son. Share it with me.

God was trying to get her to release the miracle seed that was in her hand - the handful of meal and little oil in a cruse - to bless someone else. And in so doing, He was going to meet her need through "the law of seedtime and harvest, sowing and reaping." A law will work the same way ALL THE TIME if the conditions are met.  The seed for her miracle was in her possession. The miracle seed was in her hand.

Notice the image she had of her seed - "I have not a cake, but a handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse" (verse 12). What image do you have of your seed? Do you feel it is so small and insignificant that God can't do anything with it? Well, you're wrong. That's the size of seed miracles come from. When mixed with mustard-seed size faith, that little seed in your possession can bring you a giant-size miracle. It's just the right size for El Shaddai, so release it into His hand and watch Him work.

Beloved, through the mouth of Elijah, God was saying to the widow at Zarephath, give so that it can be given unto you good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. Beloved, that's exactly what happened too. When she gave, that handful of meal and little oil became a good measure that was pressed down, and shaken together to the point that it ran over. I Kings 17:14 declared that the barrel of meal and cruse of oil did not run out for many days. The little she gave was supernaturally multiplied and increased back unto her bosom by El Shaddai, the Almighty God who is able to do the exceeding, and the abundantly above all we dare ask or think. The God of supernatural increase and miraculous provision.

Also, notice something else that was critical to her harvest. She had to get rid of fear. Elijah exhorted her to "fear not" (verse 13). Beloved, fear is an enemy to faith. Fear will suffocate your faith; and without faith it is impossible to get God to do anything for you (Hebrews 11:6). Fear will paralyze you. It will captivate you and lead you to hold onto the seed in your hand. That's exactly what it had done to the widow at Zarephath. It will also drive you to eat your seed rather than plant it. No farmer is stupid enough to eat up his last seed. He knows that if he plants it, that seed has the potential to produce a harvest that will feed him not only for a day but for many days. Also, the harvest from that seed sown will produce more seed to sow. Beloved, don't eat your seed, plant it and watch God supernaturally multiply it back to you.

Notice what she did? Once she shed fear and was willing to give of that which was in her possession, by becoming seed-minded rather than need-minded, God took it and fed her, the prophet Elijah, and her household. They were all sustained as God had planned (see verse 9), but it took her obedience to do as was told her (verse 15). Following God's instructions exactly as given is critical to receiving your harvest. Verse 15 said "and she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: AND she and he, and her house, did eat many days." Notice, obedience released that harvest and brought forth the miracle that was needed.

Beloved, we see then that the seed to her miracle was in her possession. It was not only in her possession in the house, it was actually "in her hand." The miracle seed was in her hand. Is your seed for your miracle in your hand?

Notice another account of the miracle seed being within the house of the one in need of a miracle as recorded in II Kings, chapter 4. Here we have another widow with a problem. Unlike the first however, she's in debt and needs a financial miracle. But just like the first widow, what she needed for her miracle was "in her house."  Do you need a "financial miracle?"

II Kings 4:1-7
1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha.. .the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.
2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? Tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not anything in the house, save a pot of oil.
3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.
5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.
6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her. There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.
7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

Notice this widow woman went to the prophet Elisha for help. She had a serious situation. She had so much debt that the creditors were about to take her two sons as payment for the debts that were owed. Are you in debt?  Beloved, she went to the man of God. If you need a miracle, turn to God. The first thing you must do is go to God for help. Get your attention off of people as your source, and turn it to God. Jeremiah 17 warns us of the danger in trusting in and turning to man, the arm of the flesh, for help rather than to God.

Jeremiah 17:5-8
5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Now look back at II Kings 4:2, Elisha asked this widow a very interesting question - "What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou IN THE HOUSE?" Notice her response, "and she said, thine handmaid HATH NOT ANYTHING IN THE HOUSE, save a pot of oil." What she had in the house was so small and insignificant to her, just like the widow at Zarephath, that her first response was "I have not anything in the house." Then she went on to say that she had a pot of oil.

Either she had nothing in the house or she had a pot of oil. Which was it? We have done this ourselves. When we allow the circumstances surrounding our situation to dominate our thoughts and flood our hearts, clouds our ability to see that what we need to change the situation is already in our possession. What we need for a miracle is in the house with us. You may have a dollar.  That $1.00 (one dollar) can change your financial future.  The miracle seed is in your possession. It doesn't matter how small the seed is. When planted, it has the potential to produce a bountiful harvest, as we saw from the account of the widow at Zarephath in I Kings 17.

Open your eyes. Look around you. the miracle seed is in your house. Don't overlook it. Ask God to open your eyes and direct you, through the help of the Holy Spirit, to the seed that is in your house. The seed to your miracle.

God has already put within our possession what is needed for a miracle. His Word declares it is so: "Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness" (II Corinthians 9:10). God is the giver of the seed and the multiplier of the seed that's in your possession. All He wants you to do is release it into His hands. The hands of El Shaddai. The Almighty God will take what you have and will increase it and bring you deliverance.

Notice the conditions to the widow receiving her increase. She had to follow God's specific instructions as given through Elisha. She had to prepare for increase. Elisha told her to go borrow lots of vessels (verse 3). She had to prepare for the promise to be fulfilled. What are you doing to prepare for what you believe God will do for you? If He can't get it through you, He can't get it to you.

Notice in verse 6, the oil stopped flowing when the last vessel she had borrowed was full. God is not into waste. Prepare for Him to get it "through you," so He can get it to you. Preparation is vital to receiving increase. Beloved, God can not give you what you are not in position to receive. The blessings of God that will be poured out upon us will continue to flow to us as long as we have room to receive. As long as we have prepared ourselves for the promises to be fulfilled. As long as we have prepared for increase.

Isaiah 54:2-3 exhorts us to "enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations; spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes. For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left..." In order for the promises of God to be fulfilled in our lives, we must prepare for them. We must do our part. We must enlarge, stretch, spare not, lengthen and strengthen so that we will break forth on all sides.

El Shaddai is looking for opportunities to supernaturally increase what is in our possession, but we must turn to Him when we are in need of a miracle instead of to the world and to the world system (the job, the banks, the loan companies, the pawn shops, friends). We must turn to God so that He can take the little and increase it supernaturally.

I am reminded of this verse in a popular Christian song "little becomes much when it's placed in the Master's hands."This is more than a song, it is a fact and happened in Jesus' ministry when He fed the 5,000 with the two fish and five loaves that Almighty God miraculously increased (Luke 9:10-17). Another -work of El Shaddai.

Notice something else that was critical to the widow's miracle in II Kings 4. She had to remove herself from all outside influence (verse 4). She had to remove herself from anyone and anything that would feed her fears. She had to go in and shut the door and do what God had instructed her to do through Elisha. Perhaps God has told you to turn off that television, get off the telephone, don't answer that door. Perhaps He has been prompting you to get into His Word and find yourself some scriptures that promise you victory. Then meditate upon them day and night. Confess them out of your mouth. Walk the floor and decree them audibly. Have you followed His instructions? Then how do you expect to receive if you won't obey His instructions?

Obedience is vital to receiving from God. Notice she went and did as was instructed by Elisha (verse 5). And as a result of her obedience, she received her miracle. For the scripture records that "it came to pass" (verse 6). Beloved, God visited her when she shut the door and separated herself unto Him. He visited her and supernaturally increased what was in her possession and liberated her from the bondage of debt and supplied a surplus for her and her household to live on. Another work of El Shaddai.

Glory to God!

Beloved, the miracle seed to meet your need is in your house. Pry back those fingers. Open your hand. Place your seed in the hand of God and watch Him work for you. Beloved, remember, little becomes much when it's placed into the Master's hands. The hands of Almighty God, El Shaddai.

Remember, He must not only get it to you, but "through you" in order to meet your need and multiply it back to you. No matter what you are facing today, the seed to your miracle is in your possession. Turn to God and ask Him to reveal to you what is in your possession that He can use to bring you deliverance.

Be encouraged, and remember, don't get weary in doing what is good. Continue to sow. Keep on obeying God and adhering to His Word. We are in our greatest season ever. Remember seedtime and harvest will never cease (Genesis 8:22). Keep on sowing, ultimately you will reap a bountiful harvest of return. To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.. .a time to plant, and a time to pluck up (to harvest) that which has been planted (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2). The due season and appointed time is upon you. Stand your ground, for the miracle seed is in your house. Plant it, water it with the Word of God and watch El Shaddai multiply it supernaturally. Yes, no matter what you need today, even if it is a miracle, the miracle seed is in your house.
