Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.

Isaiah 1:18

Snow is poignant illustration of one of the most important messages in the Bible:

Each of us is a sinner. We need to be purified. We need God’s forgiveness.

The transforming power of snow

Snow can turn a muddy field into a canvas of sparkling white. Snow can transform a pile of trash into a snowy white hill. Snow can turn a busy city into a peaceful scene of tranquility.

Transforming. Peaceful. Pure. Not only do these words describe snow, they describe what Jesus offers to us…

The transforming, purifying power of Jesus

Each of us is a sinner. But God offers us salvation – if we believe in His Son, Jesus. Christianity isn’t about being a good person so you can go to heaven. Christianity is about accepting that you are not good person, and trusting Jesus to save and purify you.

"Both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, as it is written: none is righteous, no, not one…" ~Romans 3:9-10

"The blood of Jesus [God's] Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." ~1 John 1:7-9

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."~Romans 10:9
