A Woman of Faith

We don’t know her name.
What we do know is that she was deathly sick. For 12 years, she had a blood problem. She suffered. She spent all she had on physicians “and could not be healed by any. (Luke 8:43)
She was considered unclean. She couldn’t pick her friends. They were picked for her.
When she heard that Jesus was in town, she came from behind Him, and touched the border of His garment, hoping, in waiting and expectation of a miracle!
Something…anything. She was broken. She was in pain.
She took a chance. A leap of faith. A risk. “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
An impossible situation. A persistent and perfect faith.
Friend, that is what God is looking for.
His eyes look to and fro for anyone with faith. Are His eyes stopped on you? Are you a woman of faith?
Hebrews 11:6 says that without faith it is impossible to please God.
If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, God promises even mountains will move, and nothing will be impossible (Mathew 17:20).
Place your trust in the God of the universe. He is a God of the impossible. He wants to part the waters in your impossible situations. He wants to flow water from a rock in your desert places, and make your cup overflow with abundance of all He is.
And, remember…give glory to God. Jesus asked the crowd, having felt the power that left Him, who it was that touched Him. He already knew. But He wanted to perfect her in faith, for when she stepped out and confessed with her mouth that she had been healed, she was giving Him the glory that He deserves. “She declared Him in the presence of all people the reason she touched Him and how she was healed immediately (Luke 8:47).
That is why we are here! Wait in expectancy, knowing that God will perform the impossible in your life. Declare His name and share with those around you all He has done.
Questions: How does the Bible define faith? How do you interpret what the man said to Jesus, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief? (Mark 9:24)? How do you respond when God doesn’t answer with a miracle?
