HEALING WAS ORDAINED AT CALVARY

Divine Healing

Divine healing is part of the redemption provision of the cross. For sin, God provides forgiveness, for death, He provides eternal life; and for disease, He provides healing.  When we confess salvation, we also confess healing. Jesus healed all who came to Him for healing during His earthly ministry (Matt. 4:24; Mark 6:56: Luke 16:19; 9:11). Importantly, healing was a normal part of Jesus’ declaration of the Kingdom, and of His ministry. In Luke 4: 18-19 He proclaimed:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
The Atoning Death of Christ and Redemption from Sin, Sickness and Disease
The atoning death of Jesus Christ on the Cross was sufficient – complete and adequate – for redeeming the whole person – spirit, soul, and body.  Sin and sickness are the two main forces that Satan uses to destroy us.  Forgiveness and healing are two of the blessings the Lord uses to redeem us and to make us whole.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV) reads:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
The Greek word “saved” (sozo) means – to save, to deliver or protect, to heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be made whole.
The meanings of two other important Greek words in that passage (righteousness and salvation) are important to reflect upon as well:
1.       Righteousness (dikaiosune) from (dikaios) Equitable, innocent, holy, just, meet, righteous, equitable, justified, and
2.       Salvation (soteria) – rescue or safety, deliver, health, salvation, save, saving
As Believers We Have Authority over Sickness, Sin, & Disease
When you made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, Colossians 1:13 says you were delivered from the power of darkness and declared righteous. The word power is literally translated “authority.” You have been delivered from the power, or authority, of darkness (sin, sickness, and disease) and placed into God’s kingdom. Jesus said, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore...” (Matthew 28:18-19). That power was given to you as part of your inheritance in Christ Jesus.
You have entered into this position of authority because you are in Christ. In Ephesians 1; Paul prayed a prayer for the body of believers in Ephesus. One part of that prayer was that they know “the exceeding greatness of his power to [those] who believe” (Ephesians 1:19). That exceeding great power is the same power that God used to raise Jesus from the dead and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenlies. Ephesians 1:21 tells us that Jesus is seated “far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named.”
How Can You Receive Healing in Your Body?
The Bible teachers that there are three types of exchanges for healing faith:
1.       The faith of the one being healed (Matt. 9:27-29)
2.       The faith of others on behalf of the sick or afflicted (Matt. 8:5-10, James 5:14-16_
3.       The faith of the one who is anointed to heal (1 Cor. 12:9)
When praying and seeking God’s healing of your body you must be sure that you are in a right relationship with God and others (Matt. 6:33; 1 Cor. 11:27-30; James 5:16). Here are some steps to take to assure your healing:
a.       Be sure that you are in right relationship with God and others
b.      Seek the presence of Jesus in your life, for it is he who will give your hearth the faith you need (Romans 12:3, 1 Cor. 12:9, Phil. 2:13)
c.       Keep your heart, mind, and mouth filled with the word of God. Psa. 107:20 says “God sent forth His Word to heal.” Jeremiah 1:13 says “He watches over His Word to perform (fulfill) it.”
Meditate upon and keep the Word of God in your spirit as revelation. Active faith can then unite with God’s Word (Heb. 11:2) for a healing miracle.
d.      Expect to be healed (Matt. 7:8; 19:26)

'Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.”Psalm 91:9-10, 14-16 KJV
"Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases,"Psalm 103:3
“Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!”Psalm 107:17, 19-21 KJV
"I shall not die but live, and shall declare the works and recount the illustrious acts of the Lord." Psalm 118:17
“My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh. Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.” Proverbs 4:20-23
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10 KJV
“Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy].  But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.” Isaiah 53:4-5
For I will restore health to you, and I will heal your wounds, says the Lord, because they have called you an outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no one seeks after and for whom no one cares! Jeremiah 30:17
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you that you shall be no priest to Me; seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children." Hosea 4:6
"The Lord is good, a Strength and Stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows (recognizes, has knowledge of, and understands) those who take refuge and trust in Him. What do you devise and [how mad is your attempt to] plot against the Lord? He will make a full end [of Nineveh]; affliction [which My people shall suffer from Assyria] shall not rise up the second time." Nahum 1:79
"And behold, a leper came up to Him and, prostrating himself, worshiped Him, saying, Lord, if You are willing, You are able to cleanse me by curing me. "Truly I tell you, whatever you forbid and declare to be improper and unlawful on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven. Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven. For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I AM in the midst of them." Matthew 18:18-20
"And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done." Matthew 21:21
"Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]". Mark 11:23-24
